By now, everyone should know about the Singtel disruption that lasted for almost one full day from last Saturday morning to last Sunday morning.
So, what if you want to have a game of DOTA during the outage?
You can do it the Singaporean’s way, whereby you complained repeatedly on Singtel Facebook Page every few hours, refresh the Page every few minutes and waited for a good news that you were certain would come very soon.
Or you can do it the JJ Lin way: just make your way to a lan shop (one that is definitely using another broadband provider’s service) and game your day away.
So here’s what happened: netizens gamers spotted a guy who looked exactly like JJ Lim in Oasis Netcafe, a cyber-café in PoMo. Interestingly, the Selegie Road shopping mall wasn’t packed with fans, and JJ Lin was able to focus on what he came for: DOTA.
In fact, during his stay there, no one disturbed him (note to self: never disturb a man who’s gaming). It was only when he was leaving that people confirmed it was really him, as one fan shouted, “JJ, bye bye!”, and JJ replied.
So next time, when your Internet is down, don’t KPKB first—you might just see your idol.
Oh, and now we know: JJ Lin is using Singtel. At least for now.
