According to reports, the 29-year-old was discovered unconscious and bleeding in a flower bed outside an apartment complex in Seoul by a security guard at around 10.25am on 25 Jan 2021.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No other information regarding his death is currently available.

Investigations Are Ongoing

According to Korea Portal, the police have opened an investigation into his death.

However, they don’t have clear leads to his death at the moment.

The police said that there were no “signs” that he was murdered, nor can they confirm if Jung had committed suicide.

There was no suicide note found in his apartment as well.

The police stated that they’ll be contacting Jung’s family to see if they wish for an autopsy to be conducted.

Shot To Fame In 2014

Jung shot to fame back in 2014 after finishing the hip-hop survival show, Show Me The Money 3, in second place.

Since then, he’s gone on to produce his own music as well as collaborate with other well-known Korean artists.

The people he’s collaborated with includes SHINee’s Jonghyun, AOA’s Jimin, Kim Bun Soo, Hyolyn and Jooyoung.

Controversy

Jung has a controversial past.

In 2016, he was reportedly under investigation for three different cases of illegal marijuana use, which took place between 2014 and 2015.

For his offences, he had to attend 40 hours of rehabilitation and was slapped with a fine and a two-year probation.

In Sep 2016, he was arrested by the police for punching his then-girlfriend while they were having sex.

She had reportedly refused to “listen to his requests”.

The next month, he strangled her and hit her in the face multiple times when she attempted to break up with him.

For that, he was jailed for eight months, suspended for two years and made to do 80 hours of community service.

In December 2020, he was booked again, this time for assaulting a minor who was his roommate and taking music lessons from him.
