Anyone who has watched Running Man will know Kang Gary: the other half of the Monday Couple, his departure from the popular show late last year made some fans cry, but people have since moved on.
And even when he’s no longer part of Running Man, Singaporeans still associate him with Running Man—just take a look at this Facebook Live video that we’ve filmed when he was in Singapore recently.
Today, he made yet another shocking announcement: this time in his Instagram, which he has always been active in.
Okay, just an image of the sky, nothing else…until you see the number of Likes. And the number of comments. And you know it’s something serious (his posts usually garner around 400 to 600 comments per image).
Koreaboo has translated the post, and you’ll either cry out of joy or cry out of sorrow.
“Today I got married to the person I love. We did not hold a wedding ceremony but rather decided to cherish this moment with just the two of us together. My wife is a non-celebrity and she is someone who captured my heart in an instant.
I know this might seem like sudden news and some may be shocked at the news, but I hope everyone can look towards the future and cheer us on. Please wish us happiness and joy. I will live on happy for eternity.”
Now, if that’s not clear enough, here’s one that I’ve helped to “translate”: He just got married today, and Mrs Kang isn’t Song Jihyo. In fact, she isn’t even a celebrity.
This took many by surprise as all along, everyone thought that he was single (and available).
Now, not only have we lost Gary in Running Man, we’ve also officially lost Monday Couple.
The next question in our mind is of course this: are Kim Jong-kook, Lee Kwang-soo and Song Jihyo also dating someone secretly? #justasking
