Salted egg chicken is the bomb. Some might argue that the #everythingalsosaltedegg craze is over, but let’s be honest.
It’ll never be over. Because it tastes so good.
Now, imagine salted egg, added to what is possibly one of the best fried chickens in Singapore.
And that’s what is happening in Singapore right now.
Gold Spice Chicken in Honour of National Day
When news of KFC’s salted egg chicken first landed in Indonesia, then Malaysia, Singaporeans be like…
Yup, we’re envious AF. After all, all the good stuff seems to skip over us all the time.
One of the writers in Goody Feed got so mad about it she decided to write a sort of petition to KFC.
And apparently, it worked! Heh, not really, but it seems her prayers have been answered because one of the items on her list landed in Singapore.
The Goldspice Chicken
Given a cool name like the 14th installation of a James Bond movie, this chicken is ready to set your tongue on fire.
Literally.
It’s salted egg with spicy curry leaves, crunched into spicy fragrant bits that’ll bring KFC’s fried chicken into a whole new level.
Golden plate, medal and straw not included.
Image thick, juicy, hot and crispy chicken coated with salted egg, chilli, curry leaves and topped off with a light touch of sweet basil.
Got that image? Now, multiply the taste of awesomeness by at least a 10 and you’ll get an imaginary taste of the chicken.
Like my colleague, Leon Chan, said, Tony Tan came through for us this time.
The GoldSpice chicken will be available on the menu until National Day (which is 9 Aug, by the way, if you didn’t know) so make sure to try it before it’s gone.
Just to be safe, try it as soon as possible because new food in Singapore has that annoying habit of disappearing almost overnight.
There’s even a daily lucky draw
Also, purchasing a GoldSpice meal will give you a chance to win in KFC’s Everyday Win Contest where you might, might just win yourself an Audi Q2, or a daily cash prize of S$488.
And the chicken isn’t the only MVP to join the time-limited menu
What’s the hottest thing in food trend right now? Fusion, right? East meets west, salt and sweet caramel, and all that jazz.
And this time, KFC is jumping on the bandwagon as well.
Introducing the all-new, chocolate fries. Think KFC’s newly-improved fries doused in a generous serving of sweet chocolate.
And every bite is a perfect mix of sweet and salty.
With the mains and sides settled, all that’s left with is the dessert.
That’s what you call a meal fit for a king-oops, wrong tagline. But you get what I mean.
KFC’s most underrated item on the menu is probably their egg tarts. Nobody orders it much but it’s delish AF.
Now, they’re upping the game with a new egg tart flavour: The Chocolate Hazelnut Egg Tart.Â
Think KFC’s delicious egg tarts, frilled up with creamy hazelnut chocolate.
Now, For The Most Important Detail:
The damage to your wallet.
- Goldspice Chicken: $8.55 for a two-piece meal.
- Chocolate Hazelnut Egg Tart: $1.50 per piece
Valid until 9 Aug 2018.
Can we have the Japanese Takoyaki coming in to Singapore next?Â
I mean, the Japanese Summer Festival should be happening soon, right? *HintHint*
