Okay, I’ll admit it.
When my very fat boss asked me to review KFC’s new wrap, I was actually looking forward to it, unlike past food reviews.
I mean, it’s a KFC wrap.
If you know wraps, like really understand them both inside and out, you’d know that the KFC Bandito topped the list of Wraps You Cannot Miss Out On Or My Handsome Colleague Will Kill You
Legit, and this isn’t even sponsored.
So you can guess how happy I am to do this job. For the first time in my twenty-one years of life, I loved my job.
And I could almost, almost, tolerate working for my boss.
Until I went to check things out further and realised that there are two new flavours by KFC.
The Cheesy Turkey Bacon and the BBQ Nachos Bandito Pockets.
And I can only try one of them.
Remember what I said about admiring my boss and all? Yup, it’s all gone.
BBQ Nachos VS Cheesy Turkey Bacon
So there I was, going, “Nachos, Cheesy, Nachos…” while plucking my colleague’s birthday bouquet.
In the end, I decided to go for the cheesy one because, well, you got to love their Mozarella Burger.
And this is what I got.
Okay, fine, I’m not that great at taking pictures (our main photographer is on leave in some remote island and we’re not sure if he’s still alive).
But trust me, when you open it up.
It looks amazing.
The Zinger patty is thick. As thick as my fat thighs.
And the best part, you can see plenty of nacho cheese within the wrap.
But like I always say, looks are just that. Looks.
It’s about what’s inside that matters.
A taste test isn’t a taste test until you’ve bitten into it. – Boon Hun, 2081
So what does it taste like?
There’s an art to eating KFC wraps. You can’t just take it out of the packaging and expect it to taste nice.
Oh no, there’s more to it, peasant.
Lay it flat on the table, open up the wrap like you’ll take off your own shirt, and gently, gently, spread the sauce over the whole chicken patty.
Then, you take a bite.
If not, your first bite will have you going, meh, normal Bandito Pocket.
And it’s good.
Really good.
The savoury taste of the cheese really mixes well with the fried Zinger Patty. The only problem I have with this?
Cheese requires a very strong stomach. You might get jelak after a few bites of this.
Then, I got to the deal breaker.
The turkey bacon.
And oh, boy, did that break the entire deal.
They say that you are what you eat.
If you were to eat this Cheesy Turkey Bacon Bandito Pocket, you’ll be a very salty person. So salty that you start flaming this article.
Imagine salty cheese. Now add salty turkey bacon and salty Zinger patty into the mix.
Eat too many of this and it’ll send you down the road to hypertension.
So if you ask me? This deserves a 2.5/5.
A passing grade on account of the original Bandito Pocket. Which is now called the Salsa flavour, by the way.
Just remember to keep plenty of water at your side while you eat this.
You’ll definitely need it. Trust me.
As for me, I’d stick to the original wrap and try to forget this ever happened.
But if you’re one who loves salty food (one of my colleagues love salty food; sometimes, he has salt for lunch), then this is for you.
Author’s Note: Okay, so I got curious and went to try the other Pockett right after work. It’s good, real good. Trust me, you’re better off getting the BBQ Nacho instead. That one deserved a 5 out of 5 for me.
