If you’ve been watching the Mediacorp drama Live Your Dreams, you might be familiar with Kimberly Chia.
The Singaporean actress rose to fame after starring in the 2011 drama On the Fringe, and was subsequently given a role in the local movie Timeless Love.
Not much was known about the 26-year-old’s love life, as she’s kept the identity of her bae, who she’s been dating for nearly a decade, in the dark.
But, like a bolt from the blue, Chia announced that she’s tied the knot with her mystery man and that there’ll soon be a new addition to the family.
Celebrity Kimberly Chia Suddenly Announced That She’s Married & Also Pregnant
In an Instagram live session yesterday, Chia shocked her fans with the news that she was married and pregnant.
In an interview with NoonTalk Media, the agency which Chia is signed to, the actress recounted how she met her now-husband eight to nine years ago.
They were just friends at first, but a romantic relationship eventually blossomed and they realised they were right for each other.
“When the fate comes (sic) you know, we found out that we’re really right for each other,” she said. So they decided to move on to the next step, which was to get married.
“He’s a very nice guy. He treats me really well, he’s very kind and he always makes me laugh. I’m very lucky,” Chia said about her mystery man.
The Proposal
It turns out that Chia’s partner had proposed on the first day of Chinese New Year (12 Feb). “Not long after” that, they registered their marriage.
Much like the news was to us, Chia was surprised by the proposal, especially since her husband turned up to her house wearing dressed as the God of Fortune. It’s only when he got down on his knee that she realised what was happening.
Never Felt Luckier
As evident in her post, Chia is over the moon at the moment.
“I’ve always known how blessed I am,” she wrote.

“Earlier this year, I said YES and I DO to the love of my life. We couldn’t hold a big wedding party due to Covid so we held an intimate one for family and it was the happiest day ever.
“And now, I’ve never felt luckier to find out that I’m expecting the biggest joy of my life to come soon.”
As for her baby, Chia said she’s always wanted to have a family of her own, and cried during her ultrasound when she saw her baby moving.
