It’s Phase 3 now but authorities are still catching F&B outlets and customers for breaking Covid-19 safe management measures whether it’s because of customers drinking alcohol past 10.30pm, or allowing a huge group in with no safe distancing measure enforced.

The latest to hit the headline is MZS Family Karaoke, located at 21 Cuscaden Road.

Due to Covid-19, all F&B outlets are not allowed to serve customers alcohol after 10.30pm.

Because of the breach, the KTV outlet has been suspended for 20 days, starting from 25 Dec 2020 and ending on 13 Jan 2021.

Both the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Singapore Police Force (SPF) are investigating the breach at the KTV.

It was added that the police are also investigating the 51 patrons for suspected non-compliance of safe distancing measures.

Seven More F&B Outlets Fined

MZS Family Karaoke isn’t the only one caught breaking the rules.

Seven others are caught as well and they were fined S$1,000 each for Covid-19 breaches between 18 and 26 December.

They are:

  • Six Grey Bar at Jiak Chuan Road in Chinatown
  • Indian Xpress Bar & Restaurant at Campbell Lane
  • ABC Nasi Kandar at Desker Road
  • CHICHI at Amoy Street
  • Lawry’s The Prime Rib Singapore in Orchard Road
  • Coffeesmith in Orchard Road
  • Manpei in Central Mall

Their offences include allowing in and seating groups of more than five together, let the groups intermingle and seat different groups less than 1-metre apart.

In addition, despite not being an amusement centre, games were also provided to patrons.

MSE also said that it will step up enforcement checks on F&B outlets over the New Year weekend.

New Year Fireworks

This year, there will be no fireworks in the Marina Bay area due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Instead, fireworks will be set off across the different heartlands in Singapore.

MSE urges Singaporeans to either catch the celebrations online or join the community New Year countdown event instead.

It was added that safe management and crowd control measures will be put into place at the fireworks sites to keep the crowds safe while safe distancing ambassadors will be deployed on the ground.

“We urge Singaporeans to practise social responsibility and co-operate with our officers to ensure the continued safety and well-being of the community.”

Meanwhile, in another raid, 36 people, aged between 7 and 66 years old, were having a “private party” at an unlicensed entertainment centre.
