If you think the first two weeks of December is crazy, think again.
But, hoh boy, if the official weathermen of Singapore got it right, it’s going to just as bad for the rest of the month.
Expect Intense Thunderstorms, Strong Winds
According to the experts, Singaporeans can expect short-duration thundery showers in the afternoon and evening on six to eight days.
That’s more than half of two weeks.
And they’re not done with proclaiming the doom of sunny days yet.
They’ve also warned that Singapore will experience more intense thunderstorm activities for one to two days.
(We’re not the one who use the word “intense”: they use one leh)
You can also expect thundery showers in the morning for one to two days as well.
You’ll Still Need Your Jackets
If you’re young, cool and love layering your clothes like Victoria Secret’s models, you’ll be psyched to know that you can still wear your jacket for the rest of this month.
Temperatures are expected to range from 24 to 33 degree Celsius on most days, with the highest expected to be 34 degree Celsius.
But don’t worry, because, on days with a lot of rain, it’s going to drop as low as 23 degree Celsius.
And given how the geniuses at the Meteorological Services of Singapore (MSS) is predicting that it’s going to rain most of the time, you can pretty much bring your jacket around everywhere.
What this means for Singaporeans:
Bring an umbrella whenever you leave the house.
Because it’s highly likely that you’ll either meet rain on the way to work, meet with rain during lunch or after work.
I mean, look at the weather forecast for the next four days.
Rain in the late morning and early afternoon. Rain in the afternoon and evening. Basically, it might just rain every single day.
But that’s not the only thing Singaporeans must know
If you’re someone who melts the moment he touches rainwater, then you’d better bring along a bigger than usual umbrella.
Because the guys at weatherman central aren’t just talking about rain. They’re talking about intense thunderstorms on one or two days.
A surge of monsoon winds over the South China Sea is likely to bring converging winds over the region of Singapore.
Here’s a video if you want to know the science behind it.
But if you’re not interested in the science, here’s the keywords: intense thunderstorms (read: Cat 1), heavy winds, etc.
If you can’t imagine what we’re talking about, here’s a peekture for your reference.
Well, that and a surge in Grab and GrabFood prices.
Because we all know that the moment a drop of water falls from the sky, Grab prices are going to go up sky high.
Pity our water bills don’t get a discount though. What happened to supply and demand?
But hey, at least it’s a “winter” Singapore, right?
