PM Lee’s Brother, Lee Hsien Yang, Explains Why He Joins the Opposition Party

This GE2020 is going to be very different from previous years’ due to Covid-19.

Because of Covid-19, various political parties in Singapore are now switching to online means to get their message out.

Some, like the Workers Party, did a video so good that if all political videos are like that, we’d probably stop watching political dramas on Netflix.

And the Progress Singapore Party (PSP), which has long been using the internet to get their messages out, got their newest member to explain why he’s joining them.

And as you can tell from the polo-tee that he’s wearing, he has joined the Progress Singapore Party (PSP) for GE 2020.

Normally a person who keeps himself out of the limelight, everyone was curious why he would willingly step into the public eye this time.

On 24 Jun 2020, PSP uploaded a short video of him explaining why he has decided to join the Progress Singapore Party.

He started off his message strongly, pointing out that this General Election, there is no Lee Kuan Yew Bonus or SG50 to help the ruling party.

He also pointed out that there are several issues that have not been solved yet:

  • The CPF Scheme
  • The HDB Leases
  • and the highly-controversial Presidential Election

“You Can Be Loyal Without Voting For PAP”

The ruling party (PAP) has lost its way, he asserted.

“The current government is distinctively different from when LKY was PM and subsequently MM.”

He added that it’s not just him, but his sister, Lee Wei Ling, who shares the same opinion in a Facebook post before the Oxley Road saga.

He pointed out that Singaporeans can be loyal to Singapore, love Singapore, and remain proud of what we have achieved without voting for the PAP and urged Singaporeans to support the Progress Singapore Party (PSP), either financially or in other ways like helping to spread the word.

The PSP (and Dr Tan) is a serious party which deserves support, he added.

And with that support, they just might be able to create a better future.
