If you watch Hong Kong drama regularly, you’d know Lee Lung Kei.
Lee is a veteran Hong Kong actor born on 1 November 1951 in Maoming, Guangdong, China. Throughout his prolific career that began in 1980, he has starred in many popular TVB dramas such as The Condor Heroes, The Smiling, Proud Wanderer, Journey to the West, Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, and Forensic Heroes.
I bet many of you weren’t even born when those were aired.
However, you might also know him from his personal life.
Personal Relationship with Woman 36 Years Younger
In his personal life, the 73-year-old actor has been making headlines recently due to his relationship with his much younger fiancée, 36-year-old Chinese national Chris Wong (also known as Wang Qingxia).
The couple, who have a 36 year age gap, began dating in 2019 and had plans to marry in late 2023, but postponed their wedding.
Last year, Lee has transferred seven properties to Chris Wong, saying that he had done so to secure her future.
On 19 June 2024, Chris Wong was sentenced to 25 months in jail by the Shatin Magistrates’ Court
She was found guilty of five charges, including two counts of breaching her conditions of stay, one count of using fake documents, one count of making false statements to obtain an entry permit, and one count of making a false declaration to immigration officers.
Wong admitted to forging three graduation certificates from a US aviation academy while attempting to apply for a migration scheme and seek employment in Hong Kong.
She was never accepted into the scheme as she failed to provide supporting documents for her supposed qualifications.
Vowed to Marry Her
Despite Wong’s legal issues, Lee Lung Kei remains committed to her.
He has vowed to marry her once she is released from prison.
In an interview with Hong Kong media, Lee expressed that the length of Wong’s jail term was longer than he had expected.
The former TVB star tearfully reiterated his commitment, stating, “I have told her through my lawyer that I will definitely wait for her.”
