Llaollao Will Be Back in June 2018 With Its First Outlet in the East

If you’re still a frozen yogurt fan, this might just excite you.

A little.

In case you’ve forgotten, there was a dramatic exit of Llao Llao from Singapore last year. On 7 December 2017, the master franchisee of Llao Llao in Singapore decided to terminate the master franchise with Llao Llao Spain, converting all 29 Llao Llao stores to a relatively unknown brand (back then lah) known as Yole.

Of course, for the die-hard fans, Llaollao is still in Malaysia.

A mini war of words occurred as both parties kind of passively aggressively put out statements: Llaollao drew a line between them and Yole, and even mentioned that Yole “is a totally new brand in the frozen yogurt market that does not exist in Europe, even though it has been advertised as such.”

While from Yole’s side, the former master franchise said that LlaoLlao’s menu was “exhausted”.

Well, pretty sure they didn’t shake hands and said, “Let’ remain friends” after the breakup #justsaying

Upon having to leave the market swiftly, LlaoLlao said that they would be back but did not mention when and where.

Now, the details are revealed.

At least the important parts lah.

According to The Straits Times, Llaollao will be back in June 2018 (which is next month!), with its first store in Changi Airport Terminal 2’s second floor, next to Kripsy Kreme. That’s the departure area; perfect for people who are sending friends or family members off.

And don’t worry, it’s not inside the hall so you can still go there during the weekends for your Llaollao fix.

The wait for Llaollao to be back therefore took about six to seven months.

Llaollao, according to its CEO, sees Singapore as a “key market”

In comparison, the first Gong Cha to be opened after all their outlets were converted to LiHo took about six to seven months as well: the surprise closure than took place in May 2017 and its first outlet opened in December 2017.

You know, it’s starting to look like a trend. Take a look at this graph we’ve done.

Doesn’t it remind you of the problem sums you’ve done in primary school? And it seems like next month, another F&B franchise might be replaced soon #justsaying

Back in December 2017, when Gong Cha reopened its first outlet in SingPost Centre, the queue was crazy – so crazy that people apparently queued overnight just to have the first cup.

Would it be that crazy for Llaollao?

We’ll know next month.

There has been no further information, like the menu (would there be new flavours?!), the exact date of opening or whatnot yet; but I’m pretty sure your newsfeed would be full of Llaollao news in the next few weeks.

If not, we’ll know that there wouldn’t be any queues.

Now you know what Singaporeans are talking about today; do check back tomorrow for another piece of news of the day!
