I remember the time when my friend lost her dog. It had run out of her house when she wasn’t looking.
That period was one of great worry and distress, as I saw my friend looking everywhere for her pet.
She was very lucky to have been able to find the poor dog safe and sound, still very much healthy.
Unfortunately, this was not the case for one dog.
Hit By A Car
A collared dog was found dying at the junction of New Upper Changi Road and Chai Chee Road, beside Opera Estate.
According to two passersby, the dog was hit by a car.
Both of them had carried the poor doggo to the side road where she eventually passed away.
Currently, the owner is looking for the owners of the dog, to provide them with a modicum of closure.

Pet Hit-And-Runs
If you have witnessed a motor vehicle accident involving a pet, or have been involved in one, chances are you are unsure of what to do.
Although that should be fairly obvious.
Here are some basic instructions:
- Stop the car safely. Exit the car when it is safe to do so.
- Check if the dog is still alive, call for assistance and wait until help arrives. Do not drive off, shirking responsibility.
- Move the animal to a safe place where it will no longer be under threat by oncoming traffic.
- Be careful. If the hurt animal is reacting aggressively due to its fear, you can try and muzzle it with some cloth or gloves while carrying it to the side of the road.
- Call the police or veterinarian clinics for assistance. In the event of an emergency, or if you are panicking, just call emergency services and they would instruct you.
- Check the pet for tags. Contact the owner about the accident, if at all possible.
If you are personally rushing a pet to a veterinarian clinic, do call ahead and let them know what the injury is, at which area, etc. This is so that the vets can prepare beforehand for the wounded creature.
We hope that the poor doggo rests in peace, and that the owners are able to come to terms with their unfortunate loss.
