As annoying as some taxi drivers can be (because they rattle on non-stop when you just wanna sleep), I gotta admit:
Some of them are pretty wise. Emphasis on the some.
And yet, even among all the philosophical cabbies out there, none have rendered me as awestruck as this one.
And I suspect you’ll feel the same way too.
Mr Taxi Driver
Just yesterday (27 Feb), Facebook user Alfian Sa’at posted a conversation he had with a taxi driver.
And interestingly, the cabbie’s words were so full of wisdom that it attracted 1K likes and near 100 shares.
Here, take a look for yourself.
Transcript (in case you can’t read):
Taxi driver: I date my wife for six months. One day I tell her, “let’s get married”. She say, “but I need time to know you”. I say to her, “only that time I die then you will really know me. Because before that, if one day I change, then you will think, you don’t really know me. But if I die I won’t change anymore. Then you can say, his life finish already, and I know what kind of man he is. My wife think a bit, then she agree with me, and then we marry.”
…
And Netizens obviously felt so too.
Deep AF
After reading it through a couple of times, I gotta admit; it makes so much sense.
Humans will never stay the same. It’s just not conditioned in them. As such, the taxi driver rightly hit the mark when he said this:
“only that time I die then you will really know me. Because before that, if one day I change, then you will think, you don’t really know me. But if I die I won’t change anymore.”
That’s right; the only moment humans don’t change is when they die.
Damn, those are some powerful words, man! It’s no wonder his girlfriend agreed to his proposal despite just six months of dating!
I would like to meet a taxi driver like that, that’s for sure!
So anyway, guys, lap it up while you can!
Because those might be the very words you’re telling your girlfriend next time. 😉
