Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen star Piko Taro’s many things: eccentric, loveable, adorable, humorous.
Attractive, however, doesn’t exactly apply to him. (I’m talking about the society’s perception of attraction in general).
Honestly, when I saw the news that Piko Taro got hitched, I wasn’t exactly that anticipatory.
But he proved me wrong.
On August 4, 2017, Piko Taro announced that he had tied the knot with model girlfriend Hitomi Yasueda.
They filed for marriage one day prior, on August 3.
Ermm, with that get-up, I honestly would have thought that they were father-and-daughter.
Which isn’t exactly that far-fetched, seeing as Piko is 15 years her senior (he’s 44 and she is 29).
If you share the same thoughts as me, you would have been like
Well, after some research, it turns out that she’s definitely not one; she started dating Piko even before he made ‘Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen’.
How did they meet?
Back in 2013, Piko Taro, whose real name’s Daimaou Kosaka, was plying his trade as a comedian and making the odd appearance on TV shows and commercials.
His wife, Hitomi Yasueda, on the other hand, was an emerging gravure model.
They met on a television show, and never looked back since. Now, four years later, they have finally tied the knot.
Why did they fall for each other?
According to Kosaka, he was attracted to the kindness, earnestness, sadness and strength of spirit that she showed when they talked.
It’s unclear why Yasueda was attracted to dear Kosaka here, but I feel like every guy out there would want to know. The secret to netting a hottie, maybe?
Moral of the story
Well, I guess the moral of the story’s that no matter how others perceive you, you will always find someone that likes you for who you are. #inspiringquoteoftheday
Or is it really?
If you’re wondering about this random dude I just inserted, it’s actually someone you and I are both familiar with.
That’s right. I can see the realization dawn on your face and the despair that comes with it.
If he’s not sporting that creepy ass moustache and those eccentric clothes, Piko can actually look pretty decent.
What does this mean? Well for one, looks do get you the babes. For two, there’s no inspiring quote and life’s just unfair.
The end.
Marriage
But there’s one thing we know Piko is more than capable of, and that’s entertaining us. Just look at his marriage ‘photo’.
If you didn’t realise, it’s just Piko and his wife, dressed up in the garbs of two differing generations.
Keep doing what you’re doing, Piko, and never change!
And say hi to your wife for the rest of us! 😉 Just kiddingggg.
