It’s no secret that Singaporeans love McDonald’s.

Announce a temporary new menu item and Singaporeans flock to the fast-food joint faster than the gahmen quashes our dreams of visiting friends after the circuit breaker.

That’s why no one was shocked when they came across a video of a nine-year-old boy crying because his mum bought him a McDonald’s meal.

The boy, Adam Bin Mohammad Irwan, became emotional because this was his first McDonald’s meal in three weeks after the chain reopened.

Adam’s mother, Madam Wati,  said that fries and ice-cream were Adam’s favourite items, and his “overreaction” was because he has mild autism and sensory issues.

Nevertheless, the boy’s adorable reaction melted the hearts of viewers all over the world, and even The Daily Mail wrote an article on it.

Fortunately for the nine-year-old kid, more McDonald’s goodies came his way.

McDonald’s Gave Hari Raya Surprise to Boy Who Cried After Mother Bought McDonald’s For Him Upon Reopening

This year’s Hari Raya was extra special for Adam.

Touched by his reaction to their food, the fast-food chain arranged a special delivery for the little boy and his family.

Mr Alan, the manager of McDonald’s Pioneer Mall outlet, dropped by the family’s house to deliver a huge bundle of McDonald’s meals, reported Stomp.

“Mr Alan came by at 12.20pm on Sunday and gave us two Happy Sharing Boxes, two boxes of their new Crispy Chicken, one McSpicy burger, two Coconut Pies, and three drinks,” Madam Wati said.

That sounds like a typical Singaporean lunch.

Madam Wati said Adam was shocked by the delivery but thankful for the gesture. The family also shared the goodies with their neighbours, Madam Wati said.

“I gave a Happy Sharing Box and McSpicy to my neighbour to spread the love.”

Shocked That Video Went Viral

Speaking to Stomp, Madam Wait said she’s still shocked that the original video of Adam’s surprise meal went viral.

The video has been shared over 1,700 times.

One man even offered to send over a box of 20 nuggets to the family, but Madam Wati declined.

She thanked McDonald’s for the surprise delivery and urged viewers to be kind to one another.

“I just want to say thank you to McDonald’s for the Hari Raya feast and thank you to those who have reached out to me on social media with kind words,” she said.

“Let’s all be kind to one another. The world is already a crazy place. Spread love not hate.” Here’s wishing all our Muslim friends and family, Selamat Hari Raya! Peace”.

Madam Wati has since started a YouTube channel starring Adam. The channel, called Hey Adam, already has 87 subscribers.

Given how cute this boy is, his channel may well take off.
