While I’m sure that having a packet of ice-cold MILO is the perfect way for most of us to beat the heat in Singapore, you might want to check its packaging twice before you slurp it all up for the time being.
And here’s why.
On Monday (8 August), MILO Singapore announced on Facebook that it will be carrying out a product exchange for a particular batch of its MILO Less Sugar Ready-To-Drink 200ml packet products.
According to MILO’s post, the exchange was initiated due to a “sour taste deviation” that was present in several samples within this particular batch.
Despite the less-than-perfect batch, MILO also added in the post that its “investigation shows that it is safe for consumption”, so you don’t have to worry even if you’ve already finished an entire carton of MILO packets from the affected batch.
MILO Singapore also clarified that the aforementioned product is the only one affected by this issue.
“No other MILO Ready-To-Drink product is impacted by this exchange,” MILO wrote.
How to Check If Your Product is Affected
And if you’re wondering how you can check if the MILO in your fridge is part of the affected batch, here’s how you can do so.
In order to find the batch code, you can simply look at the top of your MILO packets, right beside the spot where you poke your straw into.
If the letters and numbers on the batch code printed on your MILO packets are a complete match with “21489536BB”, it means that your MILO packets are part of the affected batch, and you should contact MILO Singapore to facilitate the exchange.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and are grateful for your continued support of MILO,” MILO concluded.
