When you think of beauty pageants, you will normally think that the contestants will be decked in glamorous suits, or something that represents their country.
While Mister Korea was wearing a traditional Hanbok, Mister USA was dressed as Captain America, Mister Singapore was topless, dressed in PT (physical training) shorts and boots that Singaporean males who have served NS before would find familiar.

Sean graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance and has an interest in digitalized technological advancement in the Banking and Financial Services sector.
He is also a fitness junkie, I mean—look at those muscles and you can tell. He used to be a taekwondo coach and represent the Chinese Swimming Club in tennis sporting club competitions.
Sean also enjoys acting, singing, and dancing and has his first movie shooting experience in the 2015 Hollywood Film Hitman-Agent 47.
Being a multi-talented individual, he hopes to inspire others to go after what they truly want in life and to have the confidence to be comfortable in their own skin.
But he might now be remembered for another incident.

We would expect a hunk like him to look flex those muscles on his Instagram photos, but not on an international show.
His “costume” includes a PT short and a matching pair of black boots. He also carried the Singapore flag behind him.
Mister Singapore’s Instagram account said that his national costume is still in progress, so we can keep a lookout on the end result.
They posted another comment an hour ago, saying this was fitting at the time of the passing of the National Director, Mr Alan Sim.
Reactions From Netizens
Many netizens were shocked that a pair of PT shorts and boots can be a costume. Some of them even criticised the costume by saying Singapore has no budget and that Sean forgot to bring his costume.
On the other hand, there were some positive comments cheering Sean on.
Although to other people, this might not look like a costume at all, it signifies the pride of Sean serving our nation.
