More Questions Raised About The AYE Driver After He’s Offered a Bail

By now, everyone should be familiar with the AYE horrific accident that occurred about two months ago. The last we knew, the 53-year-old businessman who drove against traffic, Mr Lim Chai Heng, has been remanded in the Institute of Mental Health for psychiatric assessment.

According to interviews with staff and neighbours of Lim by The Straits Times, he has been a friendly chap and treats his employees well.

On 2 February 2017, it was reported that he would be remanded for one more week for his assessment. It was only on 9 February 2017 that he was offered bail, but there’re just more questions pertaining to this case that just seemed…weird.

The Report from IMH Shows That He is of Sound Mind and Fit to Plea

So, what does that mean? From a layman’s perspective, it seems like he isn’t able to claim diminished responsibility, which suggests that his judgement was not impaired.

So, does that mean he’s doing this on purpose?

His Family Wasn’t Able to Raise the Initial Bail Amount of $100,000

The amount was eventually revised to $50,000. According to Lim’s lawyer, that amount might be feasible for Lim’s family “with some trouble”.

Here’s the question: Lim was driving a Mercs. Lim was running a business. Lim had at least three employees. Lim lives in a condo. No one’s judging but based on common sense facts, isn’t it just weird? The last I know, a Mercs is at least $150,000. Just saying.

The bail review will be held on Monday (13 Feb 2017), but I guess this comment is the comment of all comments:
