Motorcycle Dragged for 4 Metres Under Mercedes After It Slowed Down Before a Hump

On Monday, an accident involving a white Mercedes and motorcycle occurred on Petir Road in Bukit Panjang, at around 8pm at night.

Reportedly, the motorcycle had been slowing down at a road bump when the Mercedes rammed into it from the back, causing the motorcycle to fall to the ground before getting lodged under the car.

The Mercedes dragged the motorcycle four metres forward before it finally came to a stop.

The motorcyclist was carrying another passenger, his 23-year-old fiancé.

The 24-year-old man broke both his hands and legs and fell unconscious at the scene.

The stepfather of the 23-year-old woman has been posting a video of the aftermath on various Facebook pages in hopes of finding witnesses and dashcam footage of the accident.

What Happened?

When Shin Min Daily News contacted the stepfather, he told reporters that his daughter and future son-in-law were taking the motorcycle to meet up with him and his wife for dinner.

However, he did not expect that they would be met with an accident.

To his knowledge, the motorcycle was slowing down for the road bump ahead when the Mercedes at the back collided into it.

After getting knocked to the ground, the motorcycle coincidentally got lodged under the car and it was dragged forward by four metres.

The stepfather told the Chinese newspaper that his daughter called him right after the accident, and he saw her lying on the floor through the phone. Afterwards, a passer-by took over the call and informed him that his daughter got into an accident.

Subsequently, he and his wife rushed to the hospital.

According to his daughter, an older man got out of his car first and pulled her away from the motorcycle after the accident.

In the three-minute-long video circulating around the internet, it is evident that the rear of the motorcycle is stuck under the front bumper of the Mercedes.

There were at least two ambulances at the site.

Singapore Civil Defence officers could be seen crowding around the victims, while onlookers stood a short distance away.

Later on, the video cuts to a clip of a traffic police officer and a man completely dressed in black, who is presumably the Mercedes driver.

The traffic police is seen conducting a breathalyser on the Mercedes driver to check his blood alcohol content.

In response to media enquiries, the Singapore Defence Force confirmed that they were alerted to the accident.

The motorcyclist and his pillion were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
