A 26-year-old Singaporean man died in a fatal motorcycle accident in Yala province, Thailand on 17 April 2025 after losing control of his vehicle and colliding with a pickup truck.
The accident happened on Thursday in Betong District, in the southernmost part of Thailand, at around 2:45pm local time (3:45pm Singapore time), reported Shin Min Daily News.
Social media footage captured when the white BMW R1200GSA motorcycle, bearing Singapore registration plates, skidded at a bend in the road.

The motorcycle flipped over with its rider and crashed into a pickup truck travelling in the opposite lane.
Following the initial collision, the motorcycle seat detached and fell onto the road.
Another motorcyclist trailing behind the pickup truck was unable to stop in time and also collided with the vehicle, suffering minor injuries.
Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene shortly after to assist and placed traffic cones to redirect traffic away from the accident site.
Contributing Factors and Recent Traffic Safety in Yala Province
According to preliminary investigations by the Yala Provincial Police Department, the accident likely occurred due to a combination of ageing tires on the motorcycle and the slippery road conditions caused by rain at the time.
The Singaporean rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Land Transport Authority’s OneMotoring website indicates that the road tax for the deceased’s motorcycle was valid until September 2025.
The Yala Provincial Police reported that the area had seen 21 traffic accidents within a seven-day period from 11 April to 17 April 2025, resulting in 23 injuries and one death.
