We’re nearing the end of the year and you know what that means.
It’s time to clear all the annual leave days that you have and enjoy a well-deserved break as we end the year, and bring in the new one. And of course, the best way to unwind for the night is to watch a movie at the cinema, along with the excitement as you chomp down on your popcorn.
If you’re planning to make a trip down to the cinema soon, here are all the highly anticipated movies that will be released in November and December so that you catch all the good ones!
Eternals
We all love a good superhero movie. For some reason, we are always quick to head to the cinema to watch it once it premieres.
Eternals is another superhero film based on the Marvel Comics race of the same name that you can look out for.
The movie is set to be right after the return of half the population in Avengers: Endgame, which ignited “the emergence”.
The Eternals, who are an immortal race created by the Celestials who have existed since 7,000 years ago, come together to protect mankind from the evil force known as the Deviants.
Notable Cast: Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Angelina Jolie
Date of Release: 4 November 2021
Ryoma! Rebirth: The Prince of Tennis
If you’re a long-time anime fan, you would probably know about the highly popular Japanese manga series, The Prince of Tennis. This time, a new movie is coming out but this time, it’s special.
It’s not going to be like other typical anime movies where the characters are in 2D. Instead, the characters in this movie are going to be in 3D.
The movie will cover the story during the three-month time period between the events at the end of The Prince of Tennis and the start of The New Prince of Tennis.
After winning the battle at the All-Japan National Tournament, Ryoma travels to America by himself so that he can continue to hone his skills. However, something happens and Ryoma ends up slipping back in time. He then finds a younger Echizen Nanjiro during his active player days, and the story unfolds.
Date of Release: 11 November 2021
Ghostbusters: Afterlife
If there’s something strange in your neighbourhood, who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!
A new Ghostbusters movie will be released soon and this time, it is set 30 years after the events of the second film.
A single mother and her two children move to a small town in Oklahoma, and after a series of unexplained earthquakes start happening, the children discover the history of their grandfather with the original Ghostbusters.
When supernatural phenomena start to occur and threaten the world, the children must become the original Ghostbusters’ successors to save the day.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City
This survival horror film is a reboot of the Resident Evil film series, and will be the seventh live-action film.
Gamers would know that the series is based on the video game series, Resident Evil.
The film focuses on the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corp. After the company’s exodus resulted in the city becoming a wasteland, evil starts brewing just beneath the surface. A group of survivors must now work together to investigate what the company has done and survive.
Notable Cast: Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell

Clifford the Big Red Dog
For those who would like to reminisce about the past, this film is for you!
Emily Elizabeth Howard is a middle schooler who struggles to fit in at home and at school. One day, she encounters a small red puppy who later becomes her best friend.
However, things start to change when Clifford becomes a gigantic red dog in her New York City apartment and a genetics company finds out about this. The company is eager to study Clifford so that it can proceed with supersizing other animals, and Emily and her clueless Uncle Casey have to fight the forces of greed as they escape evil.
This is overall a very wholesome movie where Clifford ends up teaching everyone how to love big, just like what he does in the children’s book series.
Notable Cast: David Alan Grier, Jack Whitehall, Tony Hale
Date of Release: 2 December 2021
Spider-Man: No Way Home
Another superhero movie to anticipate is Spider-Man: No Way Home. The movie follows what happens after Mysterio reveals Spider-Man’s identity to be Peter Parker at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Parker’s reputation goes down and he becomes the talk of the town. Sadly, this incident has also dragged his friends and families down.
He seeks the help to Dr Stephen Strange to restore his secret identity by casting a spell, but this has dangerous repercussions that Parker now has to deal with.
Notable Cast: Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch

The movie takes place 20 years after the events of The Matrix Revolutions. Neo (played by Keanu Reeves, of course) lives like an ordinary person under the name Thomas A. Anderson in San Francisco where his therapist prescribes him blue pills.
He doesn’t recognise Trinity, and neither does she recognise him.
