Jewel Changi Airport is whopping 10 storeys high, which means that not only does it bring lots of new shops to Singapore, even old shops are noteworthy because a lot of them have taken this chance to go big (and definitely fancy as well!).

Take for example the Starbucks at Jewel which has gotten its fair share of attention.

Now, it’s the Muji at Jewel’s turn with the title for being the largest Cafe&Meal Muji in Singapore, with an extensive range of over 4000 of their usual household products, apparel and food items.

Why Jewel?

The question should be: why not?

It’s pretty obvious why everyone is putting so much effort into their Jewel outlets.

And it’s the same for Mr Naoki Kadoike, the managing director of Muji Singapore and Malaysia.

Muji sees Jewel as the centre of Southeast Asia, which is the best location for them to showcase the world of Muji.

He predicts that tourists will take up 40% of their consumer base, and Singaporeans 60%.

Pretty sure at this moment, it’s 99% Singaporeans and 1% tourists.

What To Expect From The Store

For those with money to burn and an avid interest in exercising (or looking like you do), the largest range of the Muji Walker series, Muji’s fitness line, is here.

Also, the store has an in-house complimentary interior adviser service to help customers pick household solutions of the function and material suitable for their lifestyle.

Interior Design Adviser Service Not Exclusive To Jewel

Don’t feel like travelling all the way to Jewel for some advice? Don’t worry.

The service isn’t exclusive to the outlet at Jewel.

You can also find this service at ION Orchard, VivoCity and Plaza Singapura.

Apparently, there are plans to grow this service by adding more interior design professionals so that Muji can launch its renovation service in Singapore soon.

This service is already available in Japan, China and Taiwan.

The upper floor of this store is dedicated to the 88-seater cafe, and as mentioned, is the biggest in Singapore.

There is also a no-shoes platform floor seating area tucked away in the corner that overlooks the passing Sky Train outside, though I’ve no idea why people would spend minutes looking at trains.

What’s Next?

An update for their 16th anniversary in Singapore, they are planning to introduce the Muji Passport app for Singaporeans.

It’ll allow them to have better access to information, promotions and weekly newsletters.

In addition, another price review of living and essential products is coming up.

In other words, Muji is going big in Singapore.
