Chinese Blockbuster Ne Zha 2 Premiere Tickets Sell Out in 30 Minutes for Singapore Release

Chinese mainland’s hit animated film Ne Zha 2 will be released in Singapore on 6 Mar 2025.

Local distributor Encore Films announced on Thursday (27 Feb 2025) via social media that they would hold a premiere screening on Sunday (2 Mar 2025) at The Projector.

The public could purchase tickets to get an early viewing, but tickets sold out in less than 30 minutes after going on sale, with many disappointed fans expressing their dismay on social media.

Each premiere ticket cost $45 and included two movie posters and a mystery gift box. Despite the higher price compared to regular screenings, public demand remained strong with all tickets selling out within 30 minutes.

Some who missed out left comments on the distributor’s social media page requesting additional seating.

Additional Seats Added Due to High Demand

The Executive Director of Encore Films, told Shin Min Daily News that they hadn’t specifically calculated the sell-out time.

“We knew the tickets would sell out, but we didn’t expect it to happen so quickly, faster than any of our previous fan screenings,” she said.

She also revealed that 278 tickets were sold for the premiere screening.

In response to the many comments from people unable to purchase tickets, she announced they had successfully added some extra seats from the invited guests hall.

Ne Zha 2 won’t have advance screenings, but we’ve added extra seats for the premiere. Those who want tickets should act quickly. If you still can’t get tickets, don’t lose heart. The public only needs to wait a few more days to see the official release of the film.”

Regarding merchandise, Lee regretfully stated that tie-in products were limited to fan screening package sales only.

Just yesterday (29 February), there will be another screening in another hall in Cineleisure:

To build anticipation for the Singapore release of Ne Zha 2, iQiyi recently announced that viewers could revisit the first installment in the series on their platform, with it steadily climbing the popularity rankings.

Ne Zha 2 continues to break records. According to Chinese media reports, as of Thursday 5pm, the global box office (including pre-sales and overseas) had exceeded 14 billion yuan (approximately S$2.59 billion), steadily advancing toward seventh place in global box office history.
