JB seems to be happening as of lately, what with the newly-minted Paradigm mall which houses an ice skating rink, an indoor climbing gym and an indoor skate park and now there is a new mall that will give Paradigm a run for its money.
Capital 21 Mall
The Capital 21 mall will be opening its door to the public in August, Channel NewsAsia reported.
Before you let out a huge sigh: “Another mall ?”
This is more than a mall.
Spanning at 1.4 million sq ft, the mall will be home to the “largest indoor theme park in Southeast Asia”—MCM Studio.
Think of the Berjaya Times Theme Park in Kuala Lumpur but much bigger!
MCM Studio
Touted as the fifth largest indoor theme park in the world, it will take up the third and fourth levels of the mall with its three main sections: Movie Planet, Cartoon Planet and Music Planet.
The first section is perfect for thrill seekers as it will feature rides such as Dinosaur World, Transformers and Haunted House.
The Cartoon Planet is catered more to the children, featuring “kiddy attractions” and animated characters, including Tom and Jerry.
To make things more exciting, both the aforementioned planets will use “augmented reality and virtual reality”.
Last but not least, the Music Planet will be featuring musical, circus and theatrical acts.

The retail side
It is a mall after all, so expect a slew of retails over three floors.
They are upping the ante by having distinct zones by using elements from different continents such as America, Europe, Asia, Middle East and Australia.
So expect distinct motifs from the various zones—Japanese
lantern in the Asia zone and Giant windmills in the Europe zone.
Future developments
Soon you would be able to have a short weekend getaway!
There will be two new hotels in the vicinity, Hilton Garden and Planet Hotel which will be the theme park’s hotel.
They are set to open next year.
You can also expect serviced apartments on top of the building!
How to get there
It is a mere 20-minute drive from the Woodlands Causeway.
Maybe they can provide direct bus service, just like for Paradigm Mall!
