If there’s one thing we’ve grown accustomed to on this island, it’s standing in long queues to get what we want. It can be for a plate of nasi lemak lobster, the latest McD toy or to enter a spanking new ramen shop.
And that’s JUST the tip of the iceberg.
We don’t care. If we want something, we want to go, and we want to get it ASAP.
But then ah, when you stand in the queue, you start to think for a while. Is it really worth standing here for 2-3 hours?
Well, it kinda is. Almost.
IF ONLY you could skip the queue and go straight to the finish line. Wouldn’t that be fun?
Now, you can. Introducing the queue service in Singapore.
Enter iQueue
Now, it’s not IQ, but iQueue.
The service is founded right in our home ground (see, our people know how to make things easier for us!). At the moment, iQueue has got a team of 10 queuers in its workforce. Most of them are homemakers and students.
There are a couple of queuing packages on the app, which regards itself as a pro queuing service.
The Packages
There are three packages in total. The first is called the one-hour package, and will cost you S$20 an hour. This package is available every day from 7am to 11pm, and is essentially a “queue and replace” service.
Then comes in the 3-hour package deal. Surprisingly, it costs less – S$35 for 180 minutes of queue-free stress, and you can either “Queue and Replace” or “Queue, Buy and Deliver”.
Now comes the bonanza package of 8-hours at a whopping S$85. Its features are the same as the 3-hour deal, but with a longer timeframe.
Oh, and if you select the “Queue, Buy and Deliver” option, you’ll need to fork out an extra S$20 for the delivery charges.
Added Goodies
iQueue says that its customers will be given live feeds on what’s happening every quarter hour. Imagine this: you sit in the café and wait for picture and video updates on what’s happening to people who have become your “queuers”.
It’s like you’re really there sia.
You know, it’s actually so nice to have someone else do all the hard work of standing and waiting, and when it comes to your time to get your stuff, all you have to do is slip into your place.
It kinda makes you think, though; is it worth spending your money to skip a queue? Or would you rather waste your time in queue.
Hmmm… Looks like its money vs time here. Whatever the choice you may make, iQueue has certainly got a promising outlook in Singapore. The need is definitely there.
Will it last, though? There’s only one way to find out.
