Community hubs like Our Tampines Hub and Heartbeat @ Bedok have been popping up in various parts of Singapore these days, and it’s not because it’s the latest trend to be built but because these hubs are very convenient for residents staying around them.
This time, another community hub is popping up in Punggol.
Everything About One Punggol, an Integrated Community Hub With Hawker Centre, Library & More Facilities
Previously known as Punggol Town Hub, this will now be known as One Punggol.
Located at Punggol Central, One Punggol is connected to Punggol MRT, Punggol Town Square neighbouring residential blocks, Waterway Point and Punggol Water Park.
Yesterday (4 Dec), Guest of Honour Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean, Pasir Ris Punggol Advisers Dr Janil Puthucheary, Ms Sun Xueling, Mr Desmond Tan, Ms Yeo Wan Ling, Mr Sharael Taha and Chief Executive Director for People’s Association Mr Lim Hock Yu unveiled One Punggol.

The library will include inclusive spaces, technology, programmes and special collections for all. They will cater their design so that it is accessible for people with disabilities as well.

Childcare Centre, Senior Care Centre & Healthcare Services
The childcare centre will provide about 500 pre-school places in 2022. The senior care centre will also have a full-day care programme for seniors who require supervision while their caregivers are at work.
One Punggol will also have healthcare services like a blood collection centre and kidney dialysis centre.
Central Atrium
Occupying about four football fields of space, the central atrium of One Punggol is said to be the key feature of the place. It connects all five floors and serves as the main thoroughfare.
Additionally, it will serve as an open area for meet-ups and other possible activities in the future. In the future of course, because the word “meet-up” seems to distant nowadays.
One Punggol will be progressively open to the public from mid-2022 onwards. They will be expecting to serve about 200,000 residents then.
Currently, the hub is about 80% completed.
