Unless you have been living under a rock, you would know that this Friday marks the opening of the biggest carnival in Singapore–Prudential Marina Bay Carnival–making Marina Bay its home for the next four months or so.
But hold that excitement, as the opening of the carnival will be delayed by one week, Channel NewsAsia reported.
Yes, instead of opening this Friday, it will open its door to the public, the following Friday, 15 Dec.
Before you start Singaporean-ing aka complaining, their reason for delaying the opening is acceptable.
Mr Barnabas Chia, the lead of the organising team, said, “We are making this hard decision to open a week later so that we can deliver on-promise a complete and authentic experience to our visitors.”
He also mentioned that there will quite a number of rides arriving in Singapore for the time and even though the rides have good track records, the team wants to work very closely with specialist engineers, consultants and local authorities to get the final go-ahead.
Safety is paramount; I am pretty sure you wouldn’t want to be flung out of a roller coaster and land at some pavement where they have to scrape your body off it.
I am just saying.
So if you made plans to go to the carnival this Friday, change them.
I’d suggest bar-hopping at Telok Ayer and by the time you’re at the third bar, you will probably be slightly tipsy which is practically the same feeling when you’re on a roller coaster.
