Do you have friends who regularly go into JB for cheap stuff? Maybe even baby products?
If you’re at that age where people around you are becoming parents, you’d have heard about these two things.
How it’s so expensive to have a baby here, and how they’re going to JB this weekend to get baby products.
But hear this, if you, or your friends, think this way, then it’s time to reconsider your options. That or just be more careful about what you buy.
Here’s why.
Fake Infant Milk Discovered in Johor
Okay, let me put a quick disclaimer here: I’m not saying all the baby products in Malaysia are fakes.
Just last week, it was reported that the police raided five premises in Johor Bahru after complaints by the original milk producers.
They announced that the milk formula has been sent for lab testing on 14 Dec and the results will only be out two weeks later (28 Dec).
The milk formula in question were 210 boxes of Enfalac A+ Step 1.
The police clarified that they started investigating after a baby started vomiting after consumption of the fake milk.
More parents are stepping up with accounts of their own children having rashes and fevers from consumption of the counterfeit milk.
The manufacturer of Enfalac infant formula in Malaysia has also stepped forward to replace the affected products as well.
They asked consumers and stores to return the Enfalac A+ Step 1 in a 1.8kg box (with three pouches of formula) to them in exchange for a replacement pack which has more identifying marks.
They also clarified that the milk powder affected are those sold in stores in Iskandar Puteri, Taman Mutiara Rini, Taman Orkid and Taman Nusa Bestari.
(Take note to see if you’ve bought any from these areas, okay?)
So there you are, thinking, what kind of monsters would do this to cute, innocent babies? Not scared meh?
Two people who were involved in the melamine milk scandal back in 2009 were executed leh.
But that’s not the end of the story. Oh no, there’s more.
This Time, Fake Baby Diapers Discovered And Confiscated
World of Buzz reported that the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK) had allegedly raided a factory and seized over 65,000 units of fake baby diapers.
Reportedly, the entire stash was worth RM17,300.
The Ministry took action after the brand owner lodge a report against the factory.
It was found out that the factory has been manufacturing diapers for two years.
Now, before you get all up in arms about it, note that the diapers were meant for sale in Rantau Panjang, Kelantan.
Pretty far away from JB, plus the Malaysian authorities are cracking down heavily on counterfeit baby products.
But seriously, has no one taught them that babies are considered off-limits?
Since you’re here, why not watch a video about a guy who lodged a Police report here in Singapore because he was friendzoned? Seriously. Here, watch it and do remember to share it (and also subscribe to Goody Feed YouTube channel)!
