Surge fares are, to put it bluntly, a pain in the ass.
These rip-offs take into account a variety of factors such as travel time, distance, booking fees, and the real-time demand and supply of taxis, and as such could easily amount to a fee usurping your average cai png fare.
But those days of torture could soon be put to rest, because Grab has come up with a new surge-free scheme!
While the scheme is currently available only to selected passengers, we are predicting that it will become a permanent fixture in the future.
How does it work?
For $100 per month, you get a pass that cancels out all surge prices. Think of it as a Gym membership pass.
While the prices stated in the app will be reflected as surge-inclusive prices, the surge portion of your fare will be refunded to you, in the form of GrabPay Credits.
Best part? You can use any promo code alongside it!
The Grab FareLock Pass applies to these selected Grab services: JustGrab, GrabShare, GrabCar, GrabCar(Premium), GrabFamily and 6-seater vehicles.
The future is here, guys
If you’re a frequent Grab passenger, this is definitely the deal for you. At only $1.66 a day, it more than does its job as a hedging tool against surge pricing.
If you’re an Uber fan, don’t fret. There’s a trend in business nowadays: you do what, I must one-up. Mark my words; Uber will introduce a scheme that makes things even more worth it for you.
So rejoice guys.
Because Grab has just paved the way for us poor passengers.
