Yesterday, nurses were told that they’ll be guaranteed refunds or reimbursements for cancelled holiday arrangements.

At that time, I said it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving group of people.

After all, they’re the ones on the frontline fighting against Covid-19 despite occasional discrimination.

And now, a new initiative has sprung up to make their hard lives a little bit easier.

Priority Queueing

On 14 Feb 2020, the Moulmein-Cairnhill Constituency Office announced a new initiative for nurses.

The initiative, called “MoCa Cares For Nurses”, was made possible by the constituency’s merchants and grassroots leader who decide to band together to “show their love for the many nurses working and living in the area”.

But this isn’t just for nurses within the constituency. The campaign is open to nurses from public and private hospitals as well as clinics in Singapore.

Free Daily Lunch Sets, Bread & More

And that’s not all.

Until 31 Mar 2020, nurses are also eligible for a free daily lunch set sponsored by the Pek Kio Merchant’s Association.

Nurses can also redeem a free loaf of bread every week under the Five Loaves programme.

They can do so at the two bakeries located beside the food centre.

Last, but not least, nurses will also be able to get a haircut at two salons in Pek Kio Neighbourhood Town at the discounted price of $9. A haircut usually costs $14 there.

To see if an outlet is participating in this amazing initiative, nurses can simply keep a lookout for the “MoCa Care For Nurses” decal placed at the storefront.

Aren’t you glad to see that people are now rallying together to help fight the Covid-19 virus outbreak?
