When the law prevents you from speeding to get ahead in traffic, but you own a luxury sports car and really want to, what do you do?
Overtake cars on the road stealthily with your six homies and their flashy Porsches, and hope nobody notices, of course.
On 17 July, at around 8.55pm, 7 Singapore-registered Porsches were seen overtaking dangerously around the 43km mark on a two-lane Johor Highway, towards Kota Tinggi town.
A driver, who was one of the many cars being overtaken filmed down the entire incident in a three-minute-long video, which has since circulated widely around Facebook.
One by one, the Porsches in the video can be seen overtaking the car of the driver filming by filtering to the right, where ongoing traffic coming from the opposite direction could’ve easily resulted in a disastrous incident.
At the 15-second mark, one of the black cars can be seen driving on the other side of the road for at least 10 seconds, before speeding to get back onto the lane.
Tsk Tsk. Didn’t their parents teach them that cutting queue isn’t cool?
The Johor police have released a statement on Facebook on 19 July, with Superintendent Hussin Zamora stating that they’ve identified “a convoy of seven vehicles driving and overtaking dangerously [through the video], in a manner that can cause an incident.”
Accordingly, they’ve released the 7 identified license plates and their corresponding car colours:
• SLW3839P — Yellow
• EN403M — White
• SKH3888M — Red
• SMG80C — Red
• SBA479Z — Black
• SMZ986P — Yellow
• SNF19A — White
They are now urging the drivers to come forward to the Kota Tinggi police station to assist with investigations.
Please, for the sake of everyone, live out your Fast and Furious dreams through video games instead.
