Police officers have been on the news lately, and it’s not because they’ve heroically saved a cat from a tree or fight off crimes with their bare hands.

It’s because they’ve been filmed talking to people who’ve gone bonkers recently after the Circuit Breaker short-circuit some people’s wiring.

Like this auntie who passively aggressively asked questions that are totally irrelevant…

…to this couple who can finally tell their kids that they got fined for kissing in public:

Selflessness is Fulfilling

In a Facebook post that has since garnered well over 2.3k shares in a day, officer Reema Razif shows us how the men and women in blue have kept the country safe even when the coronavirus is out there wreaking havoc:

If you can’t read the text, here’s what she’s written minus the hashtags:

30 weeks pregnant in my 3rd trimester with my 3rd child. But still hustling with no complaints, Every day. Would I like to be at home? Be with my kids? Of course! I too feel worried and anxious. But, selflessness is fulfilling.

We work insanely long & irregular hours of duties, adhering to new unprecedented regulations, trying to prevent/minimise crime, protecting the innocent, rendering assistance & advise, being exposed to unpredictable dangers, facing a widespread of personalities, public scrutiny, prone to media humiliation, to get an earful and through it all, remaining calm & composed at all times.

I give my respect especially to all fellow essential frontline workers, my husband & my love to every.single.individual. Let’s be kind, let’s cooperate & This shall be over, soon.

If there’s anything to learn from her post, it’s this simple sentence: selflessness is fulfilling.

Needless to say, the Internet has responded with nothing but mad respect for her:

So let’s not cause more trouble for the people in blue, and don’t be like this man who’s not just uncooperative but extremely racist, too.
