Lest you’re unaware, it has been pretty wet recently.

Singapore’s weather. Not… whatever you’re thinking of.

But anyway, yeah; it has been pretty wet recently, what with the weather erroneously offloading huge bucketloads of dirty water whenever it feels like it.

But if you’re one of those with an inkling that the rain’s gonna stop soon…

You should go get your fortune checked at Bugis because apparently…

It’s only gonna get worse from hereon.

Umbrellas, anyone?

According to the local weatherman (also known as the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS)), one can expect the wet weather to persist for at least another two weeks, with moderate to thundery showers expected on seven to nine days in the next fortnight.

And on these rainy occasions, most are expected in the afternoon, with an odd few extending into the night.

Additionally, the ongoing inter-monsoon conditions are predicted to continue their run over Singapore and the region, with frequent lightning activity thrown into the mix.

And on two or three mornings, widespread thundery showers (accompanied by gusty winds) can be counted amongst your morning wake-up call routines.

Cold enough to chill my bones~

During the next two weeks, you can also expect a constant in runny noses and distinct sinuses, as the daily temperature is expected to fall between 24 deg C and 33 deg C on most days. In comparison, the daily temperature in October ranged between 22.5 deg C and 35.6 deg C.

Yes, my fellow sinus-infested brethren; the ordeal’s not going to end in November. Or the first half anyway.

It might also be interesting to note that while the first week of October was dry and warm with a daily maximum temperature of above 34 deg C (on six of those days), the rest of the month was a much cooler process, with the daily maximum temperature ranging between 28.4 deg C and 35.2 deg C.

Additionally, well above average rainfall was recorded across the island. Though judging from the first look of November…

It might not be the highest in recent months.

So what are you waiting for?

It’s time to head on down to your nearest convenience store and stock up on them durable af umbrellas, because if the weatherman’s anything to stand by…

The first half of November is gonna be one where you’ll want shelter over your head 24/7.

Although of course, you could always get a raincoat or one of those ponchos, because they’re actually darn reliable. But let’s face it;

That’s troublesome af, and we all know that Singaporeans are willing to go through anything but that.

P.s. With this recent development, one can’t help but wonder whether that infamous cold spell (whereby it was ‘air-con weather’ all day every day)…

Would one day dawn upon us again.
