I bet Led Zeppelin didn’t realise they would be singing about Singapore. On Sunday, a twitter user discovered a ‘stairway to heaven’ in Ang Mo Kio.
Words can’t really do it justice, so here’s the photo.

I crossed way too many overhead bridges when I went to school, and still cross bridges going to work. Now you tell me I’m going to have to climb stairs like that to get to heaven?
Yeah, the pearly gates can wait. I’m pretty sick of climbing stairs like that already.
Actually, the staircase in the photo belongs to an overhead bridge that’s in the process of being torn down. The bridge is being moved closer to the nearby bus stop.
I’m not going to claim I know about construction, but it feels like moving a bus stop might be easier than moving an entire goddamn bridge. Maybe there are other reasons.
Fortunately, despite what the photo looks like, the halfway staircase was boarded up to prevent members of the public from climbing and possibly hurting themselves.
Before you head to Ang Mo Kio to try, these stairs are probably not going to bring you to heaven unless you jump off.
Ok, I was told I’m legally obliged to advise you not to jump off. Don’t jump off the cool-looking half-bridge. Don’t do it.
