Having been diagnosed with lung cancer earlier this year, his condition worsened and he was sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital on 10 November. He fell to the disease four days later.

According to Lianhe Zaobaothe actor has also struggled with pulmonary immunity disorders since last October, and was purportedly taking medications.

Due to the illness and a bout of weight loss, Tsang was not seen in public eye since some 9 months ago in February.

Former Hong Kong actress Candy Man has since paid tribute to the late actor, writing a particularly heart-wrenching line on social media platform Facebook.

“The last time we met, didn’t we say we wanted to work together again?” she said.

Meanwhile, his god-sister Sasa, who is believed to have been taking care of him, has yet to respond to reports.

This was a notion confirmed by Hong Kong producer Mui Sui-ching, in an interview with Hong Kong media outlets prior to Savio’s death.

“I hope he’s fine. I’m not sure what’s going on. I’ve called his god-sister Sasa but she did not pick up my calls.”

Mui’s sister Cutie Mui was previously in a relationship with the late actor, but they called it quits due to the latter’s alleged infidelity. Despite that, the younger sister has stayed on good terms with Savio.

The older sister has since expressed her regret over Savio’s death.

“It’s such a pity,” said Cutie.

“Savio indeed occupied the most important chapter of my life. There is no denying that. I am also very grateful to have met him in my life. He is a person with a lot of love and a very professional actor. I hope his family and friends will get some relief and take care.”
