Is it just me or are fires happening increasingly often in West Singapore?
Just recently, an elderly woman died one month after an accident involving fire that a company allegedly tried to cover up.
The incident involved a dramatic rescue and hose reel cabinets that were locked and had no water.
Today, it’s with regards to a massive fire that broke out at a building in Tuas Crescent this Wednesday morning.

Now, why do I say it was massive? Well, around 80 firefighters and 32 emergency vehicles were deployed to take down the fire.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was informed about the fire at 48 Tuas Crescent in the wee hours of the morning, at 6am.
According to a Facebook post by SCDF, the fire broke out at a building and industrial waste site for recycled oil and solvents. The flames also spread along nearby drains.
Eight water jets were used to put out the raging fire and an unmanned aerial vehicle was used to carry out aerial monitoring of the situation.
Netizens’ Footage
Despite occurring in the early hours of the morning, the fire still drew attention from the public.
Various netizens have taken to social media to share footage from the incident.
At least one netizen described the fire as a “Big Fire In Tuas Area” and spotted it while he was having breakfast in the morning.
Another netizen expressed shock at the incident.
No Reported Injuries
Thankfully, there have been no reported injuries at the time of writing. However, SCDF would like to remind the public to stay away from the area while the area is being monitored.
