In the past, I’ve always wondered why some food delivery riders simply don’t follow my instructions; in every order, I’d make sure that I include a message to inform them not to knock on the door, and just place the food on the chair outside my door.
But there would always be certain riders who chose to ignore my instructions altogether, even though I was sure that they’ve seen the message as that was where they’d know my unit number.
After a while, I’ve come to realise that there would always be people who just can’t follow clear instructions, and so I’ve given up on raging whenever someone knock my door.
It’s just part and parcel of life.
But one home-based business, who’s probably faced even more of such people, decided to go on a rage instead.
Home-Based Bakery ShiokSnacks Went on a Rage After Customer Asked More Questions
A Facebook user has just called out a home-based business for their unprofessionalism.
The homebased business, ShiokSnacks, sells snacks that really look shiok, like stuffed donuts and chicken skin.
According to their social media platform, there’s an ongoing promotion, whereby you’d get free delivery for $30 spent on certain products.
The Facebook user’s mother decided to order $30 worth of products.
It was then mentioned by ShiokSnacks that the free delivery would be between 12pm to 3pm, or 12pm to 3pm depending on the day.
Okay fair, enough…but then, as the customer is requesting the items to be sent to a car park at East Coast Park instead, there will be an additional $10 delivery fee as the free delivery is only valid for residential area.
So the customer decided to request for delivery to a Sengkang flat at 11am instead.
ShiokSnacks then replied, “Can delivery $35. Can?”
The customer responded with, “My total is $30. Delivery $5.”
At this point, if you’re confused, let me break down everything for you.
ShiokSnacks is telling the customer that as the delivery time is out of the 12pm to 3pm free delivery period, the delivery fee will be $35.
However, the customer mistook the delivery fee to be $5, and her order to be $30.
And so, with that misunderstanding, the ShiokSnacks made their message crystal clear.
When the customer replied with “You advertised spend $30 free delivery”, it triggered a wall of angry text from ShiokSnacks.
They replied with so many messages, even the younger version of Jeff Ng would feel FOMO.
They even wrote, “Those is well educated will understand very well what i have written.”
I is uneducated which is why I don’t understood the reason behinds the rants.
Now, if you want to explain to your kids what “that escalated quickly” means, show this to your kids.
