The Show Luo saga continues to provide juicy content for gossip and boliao writers everywhere.
Lest you weren’t caught up to it, Show Luo’s ex-girlfriend Grace Chow poured her heart and revealed the many cheating occasions Show had in their 9-year relationship in an open letter, including “group exercises”.
This reveal was the trigger for certain figures to spew what they knew about Show Luo. A model exposed Show’s flirty messages after having only met twice. A manager alleged that Show barred all artistes from a manager cause one of them rejected his advances.
Naturally, sponsors didn’t like what they were seeing. Fans started calling for him to be removed from programmes, and it seems like he might have lost two jobs worth $17 million from the shows Go Fighting! and Produce Camp 2020.
Linda Chien, also known as Butterfly Sis (Hu Die Jie Jie), who was hinted to be one of the female artistes Show cheated with, was also cut from some endorsement deals. In fact, Show and Linda might be liable to pay brands compensation.
Public figures who came to defend Show in any form would face the wrath of netizens. Show’s mother wasn’t spared for saying Chow destroyed his son’s career. A psychiatrist deleted her entire Facebook after netizens raided her post for condemning Grace Chow’s actions of bringing the issue public. S.H.E’s Hebe had to apologise for simply reposting that psychiatrist’s post.
And if there was anyone who gained from this…it seemed to be Grace Chow.
Grace Chow’s Clothing Brand Made Almost S$1 Million in Three Days
Taiwanese reports reveal that Grace’s clothing line made a profit of 4.5 million yuan (~S$900,000) in the three days after her open letter.
This appeared to be an act of support or sympathy, and one particular item proved to be exceptionally popular, having sold 12,000 pieces, or three to four times the average sales volume of other products.
This slim-fitting shirt with a butterfly motif:
(Basic math at the price of NT 480 show that this shirt alone made ~S$270,000.)
The reason is, of course, thanks to Butterfly Sis.

In 2016, Linda and her father went on a variety show where her father was asked if Linda and Show were together. (Keep in mind that this is before Show revealed his girlfriend in 2017.)
In response, her father said that Show had gone to their house for many days.
Then in 2018, Linda appeared to have made a Freudian slip accidentally calling Show her “boyfriend”, before quickly laughing it off and correcting herself.
If Grace’s allegations are true, it would appear that this is more than just a Freudian slip.
One might start seeing Grace Chow as a mastermind with a plan to financially ruin her enemies while standing to gain everything for herself.
Except…
Grace’s Brands Boasted Annual Turnover of ~S$20 Million
Grace also sells cosmetics on Taobao, and the combined turnover is said to be 100 million yuan (S$20 million).
Which, in the grand scheme of money, means that about S$1 million is basically nothing.
Even if that seems impossible to ordinary poor folks like you and me who are wondering if they are eligible for a few hundred bucks the government gives out.
She certainly didn’t need the money, if anything.
And I’d wager that even with Show Luo’s mother’s complains, the tens of millions he lost is practically nothing. (Remember that those are just two deals, then look at the number of jobs he had before.)
