Ah yes, TikTok—the app that has got everyone hooked on it.
For most Singaporeans, the large majority of the accounts we follow on TikTok are probably not Singaporean celebrities.
Instead, we probably follow a mix of the following: Kpop idols, China celebrities, western influencers.
However, if you think that our Singaporean celebrities don’t produce interesting content, this article on 10 S’pore Celebrity TikTok Accounts That Are Worth Following might just make you change your mind!
If you’re wondering why TikTok has become such a powerhouse, you might want to watch this video to the end:
Rayson Tan / @raysonttm007
“TikTok is for the younger generation—the Gen Zs.”
This is probably what most people think—which is true, since the vast majority of TikTok users are youngsters.
But who’s interested in the same old feed created by teenagers? I say, watching the older generation experience TikTok is the true entertainment!
This account is run by—you guessed it—Mediacorp actor Rayson Tan, husband of Chen Liping. Though he only has two videos so far, the two videos are more than enough to get you laughing.
In his first video, the 56-year-old actor lip-syncs to a dramatic Chinese song in the snow. The image is, of course, broken from the start by the hysterical laughter in the background throughout the video, as well as the huge pile of snow thrown at the actor mid lip-sync.

From his tagging of Bonnie Loo and Tyler Ten in his video, most speculate that it was his two young co-stars that got him on TikTok.
Herman Keh / @iamhermankeh
In his TikTok account description, the 24-year-old Mediacorp Artist and first runner-up of Star Search 2019 writes: “Ceo of being random”.
“Random” certainly is the word to describe it, as his TikTok videos show him doing anything and everything—from dancing, to making silly faces, to pranks. It also features the occasional scenario that is both relatable and funny.
You know that feeling when you go “I’ll just take a short nap!”, but when you wake up you find that 12 hours have passed and you haven’t done any of your homework, even though classes are in 30 minutes?
Yeah, Herman Keh captures that feeling perfectly in one video, where he acts out that exact scenario with the trending “buffering” filter.

Bonnie Loo / @bonnieloo1994
Next up is 27-year-old Mediacorp actress and singer Bonnie Loo—some of you might also know her as the winner of the 2013 Campus Superstar.
If you’re more interested in appreciating raw talent you see on social media, rather than funny videos, this account is the one for you.
As the champion of Campus Superstar back in 2013 when she was just 19 years old, you can be assured that Bonnie’s voice is nothing short of spectacular.
As it turns out, most of her TikTok videos feature her dancing or singing, such as this video below.

Benjamin Kheng / @benjaminkheng
The Sam Willows is a well-known name in Singapore, so I believe we all know who Benjamin Kheng is.
With 309.1k followers and 3.5 million likes on his TikTok account, I believe you need no further elaboration on just how good his videos are—three words: top-tier quality.
Just take his latest one-man choir series for example, where watching him try to imitate and hit all the different notes and keys is downright hilarious.
Yet at the end, you still get a taste of this singer’s A+ vocals.

Romeo Tan / @romeotan.85
What does an actor do when he can’t film? Take photos, of course!
The 36-year-old actor has a wide range of videos on his TikTok account, but I would say his best videos are the one showing off his photography skills.
@romeotan.853, 2, 1 let’s go. ##photography ##romeotan♬ Astronaut In The Ocean – Masked Wolf
He also has no shortage of videos appreciating his own visuals, if you’re into that—it’s healthy to have some self-love after all!
Zoe Tay / @zoetay10tt
One of the rare few from Singapore’s older generation of actors to join TikTok, our 52-year-old Zoe Tay, also fondly known as our ‘Ah Jie’, actually created her first account back in 2018.
However, it wasn’t until December 2019 that she began posting more frequently. From 2020 onwards, she’s been more active on TikTok—guess COVID-19 does that to everyone.
While there isn’t really a common theme to Ah Jie’s videos, you can definitely count on seeing her pet dog, Pepper, in most of her videos. Her throwback videos to behind the scenes of past dramas are also worth watching—perhaps it would bring some nostalgia back.

Desmond Tan / @thedesmondtan
For someone who wrote in his description “TikTok Beginner Level 1”, I would say that Desmond Tan is doing pretty well on the app.
The 34-year-old actor is pretty new to TikTok, having only posted his first video on 18 May. However, he has posted a substantial amount of videos since then.
Watching the actor’s TikTok videos will either make you laugh, coo at the cuteness of his pet dog, or very, very hungry, because cooking videos are common on Tan’s account.

Jamie Chua / @iamjamiechua
You know that feeling when you can’t afford something, so you just satisfy your desires by watching other people do it?
Like watching videos of an album unboxing, or of an influencer going through her SHEIN haul, or just of rich people enjoying the luxurious lifestyle, in general.
If you’re one of those that does this, then Jamie Chua’s TikTok account is just the right place for you.
If you don’t know her, Jamie Chua is a Singaporean socialite and entrepreneur who had previously married an Indonesian tycoon.
So it should come as no surprise to you that her lifestyle is like that of a Korean drama, as you can see below.

Joel Choo / @joelchoozw
Some of you might have heard the news of Joel Choo, son of veteran actor Zhu Houren, leaving Mediacorp in May.
Since then, he’s been enjoying life as usual, having been very active on TikTok.
As we’ve mentioned in another article, Choo’s father, Zhu Houren, is a frequent guest in his TikTok videos, often making appearances. In fact, there’s even a special series featuring his father, called “Dad’s cooking show”!
The father and son duo make a heartwarming sight in the videos, often making viewers laugh with their appearances. Take the following video for example, where the duo try the special McDonald’s BTS drink!

JJ Lin / @drifterjjlin
I bet you weren’t expecting this one!
Technically, Lim Junjie, better known as JJ Lin, is a Singaporean celebrity—so that’s why he’s on the list.
As you would expect, the singer’s TikTok videos mostly feature himself doing nothing other than singing.
What? That’s all?
Well, despite probably having heard his voice a million times, JJ Lin’s voice isn’t one that you’ll ever get tired of. That being said, singing is not all the he has to offer, as you can occasionally get a glimpse of the 40-year-old singer dancing in his TikTok videos.
