In the early hours of today (28 November), a passenger bus and a cargo trailer collided while driving along the North-South Expressway in Malaysia.
According to Bernama, the incident resulted from the front of the bus colliding with the rear of the trailer and occurred at around the 179.2km mark of the North-South Expressway. Both vehicles were heading north, and the bus was headed towards Kuala Lumpur.
The 42-year-old bus driver had lost control of his vehicle, causing him to collide with the trailer.
Additionally, it was revealed that there were 27 passengers on board the bus, with 16 of them sustaining injuries due to the accident.
Accident Was Reported at Around 4am, No Casualties or Severe Injuries
After that, New Straits Times reported that the accident was reported to the fire and rescue department at 3.57am today (28 November), according to an officer from the Jasin Bestari Fire and Rescue station.
A team of 17 emergency responders from the Jasin Bestari and Tangkak Fire and Rescue Stations were then deployed to the scene and managed to reach at 4.10am, 13 minutes after the incident.
Based on the information shared by the officer, the trailer involved in the accident was carrying recyclable materials.
Thankfully, no one was seriously injured or killed due to the collision.

All 16 Victims are Singaporeans, Both Drivers Uninjured
Mispani Hamdam, the police chief of the Jasin district, also announced that all 16 victims in the accident were Singaporeans.
The drivers of both the bus and cargo trailer escaped unscathed. However, based on reports by China Press, one of the Singaporean passengers sustained head injuries and was sent to Jasin Hospital for further treatment. The Jasin Bestari Fire and Rescue Department also provided China Press with images of the incident.
The operation wrapped up at approximately 5.20am after personnel managed to finish treating the injured victims at the accident site.
