The COVID-19 situation in South Korea seems to be worsening as each day passes.
The worst part of it all is that the number of confirmed cases is expected to increase.
South Korea Now Has Over 2,000 COVID-19 Cases & is Expected to Increase
South Korea has reported that it has 256 new confirmed cases on Friday.
This makes the total number of confirmed cases in South Korea to 2,022, according to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
This shocking number is the highest number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the world outside of China.
If there’s any good news, it would be that the total number of deaths has not increased and remains at 13.
90% of the new cases have been reported in Daegu, the city which is at the crux of the virus outbreak in South Korea, and the neighbouring North Gyeongsang province.
Number Of Cases Expected To Increase
South Korea’s total number of confirmed cases is expected to increase following tests on over 210,000 members of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus.
It is understood to be a secretive entity that’s often accused of being a cult that’s linked to half of the country’s cases.

They are still awaiting the arrival of more test results on Shincheonji members and the Daegu mayor Kwon Yong-Jin warns that the number of confirmed cases will increase.

Amidst the virus outbreak, a South Korean in charge of COVID-19 committed suicide by jumping from a bridge and into the Han River.
He was an employee at the Office of Emergency Safety Planning which is in charge of the outbreak in South Korea.
However, it isn’t known if the reason for his suicide was due to work.
