Sometimes bad things happen.

You can plan months ahead for an important event and have it be ruined at the snap of a finger.

In most of these situations, it’s tough to remain positive and revert to going about the daily routine.

But sometimes a good Samaritan chances upon you in a time of need and helps you turn the tables.

Handling A Failed Wedding

I’ve seen how long planning a wedding can take and let me tell you, it’s a lot of work.

Caterer Hywanie Just Cuppies had prepared a large number of jar cakes to hand out as door gifts for a client’s son’s wedding.

Unfortunately, the son had to cancel the wedding for unknown reasons and the mother is currently hospitalised for three weeks due to stress.

Can you really blame them? I’d be stressed as all heck too if I were them.

Soon after, the caterer wrote on Facebook in the following post.

She states that while she could’ve just kept the money, she sympathised with the mother’s plight and wanted to help ease her burden.

“Writing as a mother myself, I could feel how devastated she is at the moment especially when a mother is paying all these.”

She is selling the jars at eight for $30 and further discounts for those who purchased over 50 jars.

In fact, there were a lot of people who responded that they would buy the cakes to help support her!

Admittedly, the jar cakes did look pretty good and I’d have loved to try some.

Checking the comments, there were so many supportive people it was hard to pick from all of them.

The caterer, of course, took notice of the responses and replied to them.

What a good turnout from something that was supposed to be an unfortunate event.

One of the points the caterer made really hit right home, when she said, “Whenever I needed help, there is always someone helping me. Nothing wrong for me to help someone in need now.”

Faith in humanity restored a little.
