Lest you’ve been living under a rock, you would’ve surely heard of Singapore’s latest revelation:
Jewel Changi Airport.
Boasting several scenic spots as well as big-name eateries, Jewel Changi Airport has opened to much fanfare, and one can only expect it to go from strength to strength, especially now that it’s officially open to the public (since 17 April 2019).
Now, that’s one place we absolutely gotta visit alright.
Yet… despite all the media attention and participation
Something just doesn’t feel right.
As such, I can’t help wondering;
Is it the fact that the much-loved waterfall is pretty much a giant toilet bowl flushing?
Or is it the fact that Nas Daily has yet to shower the airport with his trademark positivism?
Well, as Youtuber YEOLO so kindly pointed out for the rest of us…
It might really be a bit of both.
That’s one minute, now f*ck off
On 15 April, Facebook user YEOLO posted a very interesting 1-min take on the newly-opened airport.
Presented in a Nas Daily esque style Singaporeans would’ve surely become accustomed to seeing, the video features all the trademark attractions of the Airport, and even introduces a startling revelation about the waterfall (that everyone has probably been aware of all the while).
It has to be noted that instead of ending off with Nas’ trademark gesture as well, the YouTuber chose an even kinder route:
Asking viewers to f*ck off.
Now, that’s a well-done satirical video all right.
With enough effort, given that he even got the T-shirt printed for the video.
You can watch the full video here:
Reception
Despite having been posted just three days ago, the video has already garnered well over 108K views, as well as 504 comments and 2,809 shares.
And as it turns out, reception’s pretty positive as well, with Netizens appraising his parody of Nas Daily’s usual style.
And although there were critical Netizens…
It seems that the positivity far outweighs the negativity here.
And this isn’t even YEOLO’s first Nas Daily parody
For back in September 2018, the YouTuber actually did a parody of Nas Daily’s ‘The Almost Perfect Country’.
Admittedly, this earlier video of his failed to gain as much traction as his newest one, but I dare say that it warrants a watch in itself.
Here, you check it out:
And for those who systematically crave for satirical videos that condemn the country we love, you’ll find that YEOLO’s channel might just be the one for you.
Note: This article was NOT written in collaboration with YEOLO…though we’d really love to work with this talented man!
