Steve Harvey is back at it again with another controversial headline. Remember the blunder that he has made on crowning the wrong Miss Universe? This time round, he has decided to crack racist jokes on TV.
Racist Jokes
In a segment on his talk show on Monday, comedian Steve Harvey mocked a variety of different self-help books, one of which was titled How to Date a White Woman: A Practical Guide for Asian Men.
He started poking fun at the title of the book, joking about the disability of Asian men, imitating a woman simply stating that she’s not interested.
“Excuse me, do you like Asian men? No! Thank you,” Harvey imitated. “You like Asian men? I don’t even like Chinese food, boy. It doesn’t stay with you no time. I don’t eat what I can’t pronounce,” he said, cracking himself up.
Backlash
Since then, a backlash has brewed online, getting Steve Harvey into a hot water after his race-related jokes.
Many Twitter users have failed to see the humor in Harvey’s lame jokes at the expense of Asian men. One of them twittered, “Asian men are unattractive… Has he watched Kpop?”
Steve Harvey is known to put his foot in his mouth. While the mistake made in Miss Universe has died down, he just had to create another backlash again.
