Subway, known for their healthy 6-inch subs and insanely addictive melt-in-your-mouth cookies, might be going halal soon!

It might be good news for the Muslims but it isn’t official yet.

According to HalalNews SG, Subway delegation has held a formal meeting with Muis officials at the end of 2017.

They shared their aspirations and efforts made to meet all Halal Muis certification requirements for all Subway branches in Singapore.

And according to the article, their correspondents visited some of the employees and owners of the Subway franchise and they confirmed the news that Subway is in the process of obtaining Halal certification.

Additionally, some of the workers mentioned that nearly half of their branches will no longer sell pork.

Come to think of it, I was at a Subway branch in Lavender when I noticed that they don’t serve bacon.

The HalalNews SG understands that attempting to stop the sale of pork in their 10 branches last year was one of the attempts to change the menu.

Subway has not applied for any Halal applications as of writing time.

Thankfully, Halal SG’s tweets have cleared the air for those who are eagerly waiting for the conversion.

Soon enough, our Muslim friends can dig into their 6-inch/footlong subs! And Subway, if you’re reading this, can we have a rendang-flavoured sub?

Since you’re here, why not watch a video about a guy who lodged a Police report here in Singapore because he was friendzoned? Seriously. Here, watch it and do remember to share it (and also subscribe to Goody Feed YouTube channel)!
