Earlier today, you might have seen videos like this circulating on the Internet:

Clouds of dark smoke were seen at Sungei Kadut, an industrial area located near Choa Chu Kang / Yew Tee.

The fire was so massive that it can be seen from Choa Chu Kang.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) has since updated the public about what happened.

According to the SCDF they were alerted to a warehouse fire at No 6 Sungei Kadut Way at about 7pm today (23 May).

The fire was already raging in the two-storey warehouse, and it involved vehicles, including scrap vehicles.

An eyewitness had told CNA that he heard what “seemed to be multiple explosions” in the area, too.

SCDF deployed about 100 firefighters and 19 emergency vehicles to the area, and had used 7 water and foam jets as well as an Unmanned Firefighting Machine to mitigate the fire.

So, is the warehouse empty, since it’s the Circuit Breaker period and no one’s supposed to be working?

No—two workers sustained minor injuries and refused to be conveyed to the hospital. One can only wonder why.
