Back in August, Easties rejoiced when they discovered that a new badminton hall had opened up in Singapore Expo.
With 20 indoor courts, it became the largest badminton hall in the country.
But, just like how bubble tea stores are filled with customers the moment one opens, the 20 extra courts weren’t enough to handle the demand of badminton enthusiasts here, as shuttles still have difficulty booking courts.
And with the authorities easing COVID-19 restrictions – groups of up to five can now take to the courts – this will only become a tougher task.
The good news is that yet another large badminton hall has opened up.
2 Suntec Exhibition Halls Have Been Converted into 20 Air-Conditioned Badminton Courts
Enjoy badminton but hate melting in the sun while you dart from right to left smashing shuttlecocks?
Well, you should try playing a game at the new fully air-conditioned badminton hall at Suntec City’s Convention and Exhibition Centre.
20 courts have been opened at the exhibition halls which used to house meetings, conventions, and exhibitions.
And while those may soon return, part of the empty halls will now be put to good use.
Called Teamsport Arena, the venue is located on the sixth floor in halls 601 and 602. Suntec leased both halls and will operate the badminton arena.
Teamsport Arena actually opened up three weeks ago, though not many people knew about it. Despite that, the place is now filled with shuttlers, as you’ll see if you head there.

Not Cheap
Since the new badminton hall is near to the city centre and fully air-conditioned, prices are naturally going to be a little higher.
If you play during off-peak hours – Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm – you’d have to pay $15 per hour, which is not too bad, especially if you’re playing in a group of five.
But if you’re playing during peak hours – Monday to Friday, 6pm to 11pm, as well as Saturday and Sunday, 7am to 11pm – well then you’d have to fork out $30 an hour.
This is $12 more than the Expo’s peak period charges. There, shuttlers are charged $12 an hour during off-peak hours and $18 an hour during peak periods.
If you’re drowning in money at the moment and find carrying feather-light shuttlecocks a chore, you can also purchase a free flow of AERO shuttlecocks for an extra $15 per person.
Do note that there are no shower facilities or water coolers at the new badminton hall, and that a bottle of mineral water costs $1 each at the arena.
