Even if you’ve not played the game, you’ll have at least heard of it. After all, it’s like Dota and League of Legends, just in a smartphone version.
Everyone knows it’s adapted from existing games. It’s just that no one did anything about it.Â
Until now, that is.

Riot Games, Creator of LoL Sued Moonton, Creator of Mobile Legends
It was reported that the creator of League of Legends, Riot Games Inc., filed a lawsuit against Shanghai Moonton Technology Co. Ltd. last week in California.
They cited the similarity between Riot’s LoL logo and Moonton’s games logo which uses a similar font on a shield background.Â
And this is just the beginning.
The lawsuit targets three of Moonton’s games: Magic Rush: Heroes, Mobile Legends: 5v5 MOBA, and Mobile Legends: Bang bang.
Blatant Infringement of Trademark and Copyright
They alleged that characters, artwork, map designs, and unit and monster designs were stolen from League of Legends.

Within the lawsuit, they claimed that Moonton persists in copyright and trademark infringement even after knowing about it.

Riot Games claimed that they had approached both Google Play Store and Apple Store to take down the infringing games.Â
Moonton took down Mobile Legends: 5v5 MOBA and later, without notifying Google Play Store or Riot Games, reuploaded the same game under a different name, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang which is what we are playing right now.Â
They claimed that Moonton has only been making minimal changes to their game while keeping everything else the same.Â
The question now is, would Mobile Legends: Bang Bang go down just like Mobile Legends: 5v5 MOBA?
