As any seasoned queuing veteran would undoubtedly be aware of, there are multiple ways one can choose to idle the time away while waiting:

Yet, even with the extreme repertoire of things one could do while queuing, I could have never, for the life of me, imagined doing this:

Taxi Driver Picked Up Rubbish With Chopsticks While Queuing for Passengers in Airport

On 2 June, Facebook user Wincent Chua posted a video of a rather intriguing incident to the social media platform:

A 44-second clip that showed a female Silvercab driver using a pair of chopsticks to pick up cigarette butts and other rubbish while in the taxi queue, before placing the trash in a plastic disposal bag.

Apparently, the heartwarming scene occurred at Changi Airport Terminal 4’s taxi stand on Sunday (2 June), at around 1:47 a.m. The video was later picked up by Facebook page ROADS.sg, which stated:

“Such civic-mindedness is rare and must be acknowledged.”

“The Silvercab driver did this for around 15 minutes,” said Mr Chua, also a cabby.

“When I started recording the video, she was already on her second plastic bag.

“She moved when the queue moved. Whenever the queue stopped, she would come out of her taxi to pick up litter.

“I was very surprised and touched by her actions because the queue was very long and she could have spent the time doing her own things, like watching YouTube, but she didn’t.

“She kept coming out of her taxi to pick up litter even though it wasn’t her job.”

Well, that’s a rare species alright.

Rather unsurprisingly, Netizens were full of praise for the cabby.

Though over on Stomp, the reception wasn’t quite as friendly.

Though considering the number of Internet trolls abound nowadays, it’ll definitely have to be taken with a grain of salt.
