If you’ve downloaded our app and read our articles daily, you’d know that there’s a new job in Singapore: temperature screening job.

Well, it’s not exactly a job but more of a freelance gig, because we all choose to believe that the Wuhan virus will be defeated soon.

Back then, we found a listing in fastjobs.sg, whereby a recruitment firm looks for 300 temperature screeners in Singapore with remuneration of up to $12.

Well, it seems like the demand’s rising and so, the remuneration’s rising too.

Now, it’s revealed that pay can be up to $32 per hour.

Boss, please treat this article as my official resignation letter. I’m off to save the world.

More Demand For People to Do Temperature Screening Job

If you’ve Googled for “temperature screening job” a few days back, you’d most probably see our article and one or two listings by job portals.

Do it today and you’ll still see our article, but with more listings by various job portals.

A search on Fastjobs.sg now shows 42 job openings related to temperature screening, both full-time and part-time positions. The part-time positions offer from $10 to $25 per hour.

In Jobstreet, there are a whopping 179 job openings for the same position.

In Jobscentral, there are 7 openings.

You get the idea.

Most of them are advertised by recruitment firms, and many of them aren’t just looking for 10 or 20 temperature screeners: they’re looking for 50 to 300 of them.

Add them all together and we’re looking at, maybe, 1,000 or more temperature screeners needed here in our tiny island.

But here’s the thing:

Market Rate is About $12 to $16 Per Hour; Highest Up to $32 Per Hour

Most of the listings are between $12 to $16, and according to TODAYonline, Parkway Shenton can pay up to $32 an hour—but that depends a lot on the day and shift, and it’s unknown if that rate is for their full-timers.

Nevertheless, that’s agak agak the market rate.

Reader Bao: But I heard can earn $48 an hour! Huat ah!!

Wells.

Temperature Screening Job Rates of Up to $48 Per Hour Fake

Given the risk, I won’t be surprised if a firm decided to pay $48 an hour, but it turns out to be fake.

A WhatsApp message has been promising a rate of $33 and $48—according to Raffles Medical Group that deploys temporary healthcare assistants at Changi Airport, that’s doctored and inaccurate.

So if you’re looking to earn some quick buck honestly, go forth and apply for these jobs—remember, the minimum you should be getting is $12, and if you get $16, it’d be pretty goody. Anything above $32 might be fake so don’t be scammed.

If you’re looking to earn some quick buck dishonestly, go buy some masks cheaply and—oh, wait. Cannot liao.
